Among engineering and scientific graduates, the GATE test is very popular. Every year, lakhs of students take this test in order to get entrance to higher education programmes or to be selected for government or public sector jobs. WHAT IS GATE EXAM?
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an assessment of graduate aptitude used to determine eligibility for post-graduate engineering studies in India. The IISc and IITs across the country hold GATE exams. There are numerous universities that accept GATE exam scores for post-graduate degrees.
Several universities that offer post-graduate education as well as several government-owned Indian corporations employ the GATE score to hire engineers. GATE scores are valid for two years following the exam date. Various foreign institutes, such as Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University, accept GATE scores. Students who score well on the GATE receive financial aid from the MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) and many other government entities for their post-graduate education.
Eligibility Criteria
Those who are officially enrolled in their third year of undergraduate studies/ higher years of study, or who have completed any government-approved degree programme in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Arts, or Commerce, are also welcome to apply for GATE 2022.
There is no lower or upper age limit requirement for this exam.
There is no fixed percentage requirement for taking the GATE exam.
There is no set number of attempts required to apply for this exam.
Only when filling out the online application must all of the documents be uploaded. It is not necessary to send it by mail.
Candidates having backlogs (failed subjects) in any of their qualifying examination subjects were required to upload a copy of any final year mark sheet provided by the institute where they were studying.
Exam Pattern
There are 65 questions for 100 marks
Multiple Choice Questions will be of 1 and 2 marks with 0.33 and 0.66 negative markings respectively
Multiple Select Questions and Numeric Answer Type Questions won’t have any negative marking.
